Who We Are
Established in 2001 by Peter Assenyoh, Shebre Musical & Dance Group has grown from a local ensemble into a respected cultural brand, known for its authenticity, discipline, creativity, and high-energy performances. We are The Cultural Ambassadors of Ghana — carrying rhythm, voice, and movement from the coastlines and market squares of Accra to stages across five continents.
The name “Shebre,” meaning “Destiny,”reflects the organization’s vision of using traditional music and dance to connect cultures, inspire audiences and empower young talents. With over 45 professional performers, the ensemble has presented more than 100 performances and represented Ghana in 14+ countries across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America.
