The Story
Shebre returned to the International Drum Festival in Cairo in 2019, building on the relationships and reputation established during their 2015 debut. By this point, the group had refined their festival programme considerably, incorporating elements from their touring across South America and Europe. The 2019 performances were longer, more polished, and included collaborative segments with Egyptian percussionists — a highlight that underscored the festival's mission of cross-cultural musical dialogue.
